Chimney Repairs & Rebuilds

There are times that a chimney will need to be repaired when it is being inspected or if there has been an accident or other problem that forces us to get into the chimney. The most common problems that we encounter with chimneys are: leaks in the flue liners (chimney bricks), cracks, missing mortar joints, broken chimney caps/molding and loose flashing material (e g., aluminum). If you notice any of those problems or suspect that one may be present, please contact us right away. We always recommend that you check the chimney once per year regardless of whether you need repairs done. It is very important that you follow all the instructions on our website regarding how to keep your chimney system clean and safe.

Chimney Inspections

A chimney inspection is usually recommended at least twice a year to determine if there are any signs of trouble with your chimney system. During a chimney inspection, our certified chimney inspectors will inspect the following areas of your chimney system including chimney flashings, chimney cap construction, chimney liner construction, masonry mortar joints, roofing materials and chimney flashing insulation. They will also look for any signs of damage that might result from fire or smoke exposure such as dry rot, broken brick or mortar, missing wall board or damaged shingle roofs. Once they complete the inspection, they will explain what issues were found and advise you of how to correct them.

Chimney Cap Replacement

When the exterior of the chimney is worn out or needs replacing, we can help! We only use 100% copper products which make for the ideal replacement. As part of our service, we provide our customers with new chimney caps to replace existing wood caps. Our caps are made of solid copper material which will last longer than regular caps.

Our Chimney Services Include:

  • Cleaning the smoke stack area from soot accumulated during winter months
  • Inspect chimney cap for any holes or cracks that may allow cold air into the chimney flue system
  • Check all of the interior surfaces (wall, roof) for signs of deterioration
  • Test the draft hood to ensure proper airflow into the chimney
  • Inspect the exterior surface of the chimney for any signs of deterioration
